Evenings and Coastal Dreams

Manipal, A serene blend of lush greenery and the coastal breeze. Sitting on the Western Ghats. It’s a hub for nature to flourish in its diversity. From beaches to lakes to mountains. Trees follow you at every corner. Providing a sense of relaxation and calmness as you take a stroll throughout Manipal after a long day of classes. Offering their shade and giving a refreshing sight. Manipal is a paradise for rain lovers with its seemingly everlasting rains. The harmony of rain and thunder are well known among the residents. There is a forever requirement for an umbrella. Streams of water flowing down paths and the air is filled with the familiar and relaxing scent of wet soil. As the end of the day approaches and the sky turns into hues of orange and pink. Everyone rushes to the various beaches to catch the Arabian sea swallow the Sun and the Ocean reflects the shades of the sky. End point being the favourite spot to lose, relax and unwind yourself in the view of the horizon where the lan...

Order of Chaos

There is a beautiful quote, “Chaos was the law of nature; order was the dream of man”. It makes me wonder: are chaos and order truly separate entities? In the world around us, nature follows a structure, a sense of order. Whereas humans are in utter chaos, in every corner of the world. Yet, despite this, the quote still holds true. Man strives for order but finds chaos, nature is chaotic but finds order. Perhaps chaos itself holds an underlying order. As the Chaos Theory states, even in apparent randomness we find interconnections and an underlying pattern. It seems absurd, yet it makes perfect sense. In my life, I have faced chaos. I may never fully understand it, yet each time, I have found a way through. Strangely, even chaos has led me to order. Within both chaos and order, a path to order always exists. It’s a matter of observation. Things fall into place; a pattern emerges from a seemingly random string of events. Life is only there to provide you with opportunities. One must sei...

To The Princess

On the streets we met back when I knew nothing other than surviving. You gave me money for food. My messiah, I am alive today because of you. That night, I took a knife and made a blood oath, to become your knight and protect you forever. To live for you and die for you. As years passed, through blood, sweat and tears, I became your knight, your sword, your shield. You recognized me from your visit back then, two children living opposite lives. The more time I spent with you, the more I saw you not as an angel but a woman. With every word you muttered to me, I fell more for you. Hiding my feelings, I lived as your knight with the knowledge I would never be your prince. Slowly you caught on, I could never hide myself with you. Time passed, and the fateful day of your engagement with the neighboring kingdom’s prince arrived. The whole kingdom celebrated; a festival was held for three days. I cried that day, with my soul shattering and falling apart. Looking at the scar of my blood oath, ...

LOST

A human in the span of their life will be lost at least once. Now, this could be the definition of lost, “unable to find one's way” or being lost in life. The latter, however, is more terrifying. It makes people so stuck in a shell that they miss the life that’s there in front of them. Being lost is not a human error but a part of life. A way that the universe guides us onto a path that we want. Why is it so terrifying? To put it simply, Agnosiophobia, the fear of not knowing. Look at it this way, a traveller lost in a foreign land without any map. At first, panic sets in. But as he travels and explores, he begins to discover something new. Life works the same way. The world’s unknown paths are a sign that you’re on the right track. The only catch? You’re not ready to face it, yet. You will never know when the world decides to play this twist on your story, but it will happen maybe multiple times. Being lost is like walking in thick fog. You cannot see far, but step by step, the pa...

Simply Complex

It’s amusing to think that different versions of you exist in the eyes of others. Even in your eyes, you are a version of yourself at any given time. A person often fails to truly see themselves, and some may never achieve that clarity in their lifetime. A person is so complex that their puzzles always remain incomplete. Here is the contradictory part, people are also simple. They are so simple in fact that once you figure out what they like and get them a gift related to it. Their smile will be forever engraved in your mind. Is a person complex or are they simple? Must we answer this question at all? We are humans, simply complex humans. It all depends on how we want to understand others. In other words, a matter of perspective. Choose how you wish to view humans, and they will reflect that perception. Moreover, how you choose to view others reveals the person you are, bringing you closer to understanding yourself.

Moving On

Dear Ex, I write this with the hope that you read this someday. I am sorry about how things turned out in the end. It is heartbreaking, I wished and prayed for things to be different. Alas, life has its ways. I am not writing this to blame you in any way nor to hurt you but apologize and move on. There is no one to blame for the things that happened. It was just circumstantial. You were the most beautiful part of my life, and I made you into a greater being than myself. While I should have been your equal. The time spent with you is far from regrettable. It made me understand and grow as a person. The person I was when I met you, when we parted ways and when I write this are different yet the same person. I am truly sorry for those times when I did cause pain. I know humans trying to form such a connection will hurt each other but we never cured the pain deep down, did we? That part is regretful. I am sorry and thank you for being a chapter I don’t want to forget. Take care. From...

Heartbreak

The worst kind of addiction is love. You can ruin yourself from drug addiction, alcohol addiction or smoking addiction but there is hope for recovery. Whereas, if love ruins you, you lose everything. The one that you love the most ruins you and you are left wondering was it ever love. It destroys your soul into pieces, and you still say, ‘I am sorry’. Even when there is nothing left in your heart you give it away. You are left wondering, ‘Will I ever get it back?’. There is no knife required to have your heart cut into pieces and no glue can ever repair such a heart. The way you lose your hopes, your dreams and your future in a blink of an eye. Drifting mindlessly through time with no care in the world. At that moment, it doesn’t matter if you die or live. There is nothing but a simple word for such a ‘ruin’. Heartbreak. It doesn’t define what a person is going through, but everyone understands. Everyone will say comforting words and you just have to pretend to take their comfort becau...
